Linha D'Água é um disco de explorações e descobertas, de curiosidade e diálogo, e talvez mais do que tudo, uma grande homenagem ao encontro, à parceria, ao construir junto. As oito faixas foram gravadas num único dia no estúdio, mas é fruto de mais de dois anos de colaborações.

É dessa troca e dessa intimidade que nasce Linha D'Água, mas em duo eles exploram um caminho único, com um procedimento bastante interessante. A partir da bateria, Takara dispara melodias e, com o sintetizador, Carla vai esculpindo o som. O mais bonito desse jeito de tocar é gerar um efeito colateral excepcional, que é eliminar o caráter mais egóico da improvisação livre. O resultado é um som realmente colaborativo, duas vozes que se complementam, que se respeitam, deixando as ideias fluírem.

Escolhi usar ideias próximas porque esse não é um disco calcado em gêneros. Antes é um álbum que navega por atmosferas, por explorações. Claro que a percussão tem um peso grande, tanto como alicerce quanto como comentário lírico, mas o bonito aqui é que ela só tem a oportunidade de soar estrutural e melódica a partir da modelagem sonora dos sintetizadores. Por isso penso tanto na frase do João Cabral, porque é bastante emocionante ver os rios que carregamos conosco desaguarem em um lugar comum.

Mauricio Takara plays drums/percussion with the bands Hurtmold and Sao Paulo Underground (with trumpeter Rob Mazurek from Chicago). With these bands he´s released many records and has played all over, including festivals like Sonar, SXSW, Saalfelden Jazz, Belgrade Jazz Festival, Club Transmediale, etc. Takara is also very active in Sao Paulo´s improvising and experimental music scene and has played with a wide range of musicians such as Pharoah Sanders, Damo Suzuki, Yusef Lateef, Joe Lally (Fugazi), Prefuse 73, Makoto Kawabata, among many others. In his solo work he uses drums and percussion in connection with synthesizers and electronic effects, exploring the more abstract as well as melodic side of rhythms and percussive sounds.

Carla Boregas is a musician based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, known mostly by her work as the bass player of the band Rakta, which started in 2012 and toured intensely throughout South America, US, Europe, Mexico and Japan. Carla is also part of the experimental electronic duo Fronte Violeta and performs as a solo artist. Her solo music is based on live manipulation of synthezisers, samples and acoustic sounds. Creating immersive atmospheres and deeply exploring the sensorial and physical aspects of sound.
